Unfortunately, the rich text editor is very old and very buggy in modern browsers -- we've been working on a replacement for the new Create Entries page but we haven't gotten it integrated yet -- so it does tend to break more or less randomly, so I can't guarantee we'll be able to do anything about it, but the developers are looking at it.
Until they can reproduce and figure out what's going on, I suggest the Beta Create Entries page, which can be turned on through the 'Organize' tab and accepts Markdown formatting. I've attached the FAQ on that.

I am not satisfied with the answer at all
I saw on the list of requests that it is not only my problem - a lot of people are very frustrated with the lost possibility to use rich text panel
We really do not understand why you should change something which is already well working
It was not *buggy* - it was working well, by the way - I was not found any complaints on this in last requests? The majority of them are about rich text problems and problems with crossposting to LJ, they are also not solved.
I am here for more than 3 years and it was never problematic work with rich text.
It was all started with developers' manipulations with code some days ago when we receive an announcement about this in our postboxes
I am sorry but this is not development, but ruining working instruments.
It is all very sad
